Plant Reproduction What is Plant Reproduction? Plant reproduction is the process by which plants create new plants. Just like animals have babies, plants have ways of producing seeds and growing new plants. Types of Plant Reproduction Asexual Reproduction : This type of reproduction does not involve seeds. One plant makes new plants without the help of another plant. The new plants are identical to the parent plant. Vegetative Propagation : Plants grow from parts like stems, roots, or leaves. For example, potatoes can grow new plants from their "eyes," and strawberries can send out runners that grow into new plants. Sexual Reproduction : This involves the production of seeds and requires the help of two plants (or sometimes just one plant with male and female parts).
