What is Cultivation? Cultivation means growing crops in fields. Farmers prepare the land, sow seeds, and take care of the crops until they are ready to be harvested. Who are Farmers? Farmers are people who grow crops and vegetables. They work hard in the fields. They help feed the entire country. Stages of Cultivation Ploughing The land is loosened using a plough. It makes the soil soft so seeds can grow easily. Sowing Seeds Seeds of crops like wheat, rice, or pulses are sown in the soil. Watering Water is given to crops using canals, tube wells, or rain. Plants need water to grow. Adding Manure or Fertilizers Manure or fertilizers are added to make the soil rich in nutrients.
