Order of Operations (Parenthesis) @worldofworksheetswow8570

The order of operations is the rule that tells us the order to solve different parts of a math problem. The common way to remember it is by using PEMDAS:

  1. Parentheses: Do any calculations inside parentheses first.
  2. Exponents: Solve exponents (like 232^3 or 525^2) next.
  3. Multiplication and Division: Do these from left to right. They're on the same level, so go in the order they appear.
  4. Addition and Subtraction: Lastly, do any addition and subtraction from left to right, just like multiplication and division.

So, if you see a problem like this:

5+(3×2)25 + (3 \times 2)^2

You would:

  1. Solve inside the parentheses: 3×2=63 \times 2 = 6
  2. Then solve the exponent: 62=366^2 = 36
  3. Finally, do the addition: 5+36=415 + 36 = 41

The answer is 41!
