Class 4 EVS Chapter 2 Organs of our Body @worldofworksheetswow8570

Organs of Our Body

Our body is like a machine that works with the help of different parts called organs. Each organ has a special job to do. Let’s learn about some important organs in our body!

1. The Brain

  • Location: Inside our head, protected by the skull.
  • Function: The brain is like a computer. It controls everything we do – thinking, talking, moving, and even our breathing!

2. The Heart

  • Location: In the chest, a little to the left.
  • Function: The heart pumps blood to every part of our body. It works all the time, even when we are sleeping. The blood carries oxygen and nutrients to keep our body healthy.

3. The Lungs

  • Location: Inside the chest, on both sides of the heart.
  • Function: We have two lungs that help us breathe. They take in oxygen when we inhale and remove carbon dioxide when we exhale.

4. The Stomach

  • Location: In the middle of the body, just below the chest.
  • Function: The stomach helps digest the food we eat. It breaks down food into smaller pieces so that our body can use the nutrients for energy.

5. The Liver

  • Location: On the right side of the body, below the lungs.
  • Function: The liver helps clean our blood and produces a liquid called bile, which helps in digesting food.

6. The Kidneys

  • Location: There are two kidneys, located at the back of the body on both sides.
  • Function: The kidneys clean the blood by removing waste and extra water, turning it into urine.

7. The Skin

  • Location: Covers the entire body.
  • Function: The skin is the largest organ. It protects us from germs, helps us feel things, and controls our body temperature.

8. The Bones (Skeletal System)

  • Location: All over the body, forming our skeleton.
  • Function: Bones give our body shape and protect our internal organs. They also help us move.

9. The Muscles

  • Location: Attached to bones all over the body.
  • Function: Muscles help us move, run, jump, and even smile!

Fun Facts

  • The human brain weighs about 1.4 kg.
  • The heart beats about 100,000 times a day!
  • The liver can grow back if a part of it is removed!

These organs work together to keep our body healthy and strong. It’s important to take care of them by eating healthy food, exercising, and drinking plenty of water!
