Steps:
Draw a Base Line
- Using a ruler, draw a straight line. This will be the base of your 90-degree angle. Label this line as AB.
Mark a Point on the Line
- Choose a point on the line, say A, where you will construct the 90-degree angle.
Place the Compass on Point A
- Set the compass on point A and draw an arc that cuts the line AB at two points on either side of A. Label these points as C and D.
Set a Compass Radius for Equal Arcs
- Without changing the compass width, place the compass at point C and draw an arc above point A.
- Now, place the compass at point D and draw another arc that intersects the first arc. Label the intersection point as E.
Draw the Perpendicular Line
- Use a ruler to draw a straight line from point A through the intersection point E. This new line, AE, forms a 90-degree angle with line AB.
